ABOUT PAYMENT

At the moment we accept payments via national or international transfer, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information at contac@southamericabirdingtours.com.

Please ask for the payment invoice, so we can send it to you.

  • DEPOSIT

Please note that the deposit between banks has a high commission percentage, usually higher than 15%. And this is covered by the client.

  • CARDS

With credit card VISA or MASTERCARD in both cases we charge a 5% more commission per card. You can also pay in cash with US dollars or soles at the exchange rate of the day without any commission.

Transportation

There are several good quality bus companies that offer sleeper seats and meals on board, such as Moviltours, Excluciva, Maldonado Tours, among others, that will take us to the different points we will visit along our journey. Airlines are also a very good option. We recommend flights arriving before or until noon.

Most of the transfers from the city to the camps are by land by car and by river with the typical outboard motor boats.

Is it necessary to carry cash?

The services of bar, boutique or any additional services are not included in the price of your program. Payment is in cash in soles, dollars or euros, and if you do not have cash you can withdraw from the ATM in the city.

We recommend that you carry cash in small bills and coins to facilitate the payment of extra services in the camp.

Will there be drinking water during the tour?

The Camp will have bottles of drinking water so you can refill your bottle or canteen (to be more respectful with the environment we recommend bringing your own canteen and thus we will not consume drinks that are bottled in single-use plastic bottles). The water from the taps is not suitable for drinking, but it is suitable for cleaning.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas.

Please DO NOT smoke inside your tent, in the dining room, on the boat and during excursions.

About the excursions

The excursions are detailed in the different programs, with established schedules that can be modified in coordination with the guide. The reasons that may cause any change will be the weather or willingness of the guests. In this case the guest will have to fill out a “no activity” form duly signed to endorse his decision.

Feeding

Our food is very varied with fusion dishes, from different regions mostly local. If you have any specific dietary requirements (diet, vegetarian, vegan, allergies, intolerances, etc…) please do not hesitate to let us know in advance.

Power supply and lighting

Peru operates on 220 volts. It is recommended to bring your own converter and adapter if possible.

Some of the places we will visit will have electricity 24/7, there will also be campsites that will have generators during certain hours.

In some camps it is recommended to bring a solar charger or spare batteries, as the use of electric generators is not allowed.

The lighting of the camp will be with candles and battery-operated spotlights.

Insurance and accidents

In case of emergencies we have a first aid kit equipped to deal with minor cases that may arise in the area. In case of complex emergencies, an evacuation will be necessary, we will have to move to a city by the nearest route where there is access to a state clinic. Emergency expenses are not included in the reservation and must be covered by the traveler.

Since all nature activities are exposed to natural risks, before starting our service you will sign a commitment form “I release you from all liability whether financial, criminal or civil in respect of any accident or injury that I may suffer in my person due to negligence, carelessness or recklessness incurred during the trip and the stay in the camp”.
